Rated 5 von 5 von Thelonious aus Such loudness. Much Power. Very bass. So these were on an insane sale when I bought them (169.99 ea). So I bought two of them. And put them in my tiny little bedroom. I have to say, I regret nothing. These things are amazing. I played "Turn Down For What" first thing (because that's the most bass-heavy song I know) with the gain at 50%. Car alarms were going off outside my house. I mean, it makes me want to cry. I love these things with all my heart. After the initial craze, I turned the gain down to 25% and left it there. They really do complement my KEF C35 speakers with a Nakamichi (Yes, I do really care about quality) amp.
Rated 5 von 5 von thelegend1310 aus Amazing Performance. I convinced my grandparents to purchase this sub, after they were reluctant at first to upgrade any of the old and outdated components from their previous home theater setup. Needless to say, once this beauty arrived we were all impressed, to say the least. This is a very high performing (and powerful) sub that not only plays loudly, but also crystal clear. Movies become an immersive and life-like experience, and music is filled with deep-end presence that was previously lacking. The sub's performance was (and still is!) so great that my grandparents decided to completely upgrade their entire home-theater system to JBL's matching ES series speakers. Would highly recommend!
Rated 5 von 5 von Autocad aus Great Sound I purchased the ES150P a few weeks ago, it was great buy, fantastic sound.
Rated 5 von 5 von Fernie aus Best bass ever very crisp sounding. And the appearance is very nice looking.
Rated 5 von 5 von JBLSmiles aus Just like its big brother, very pleased! I bought this to compare to the ES250P 12" sub I bought recently and which I thought might be too big for my home theater system LOL. In comparison, the 150P, when volume matched to the 250P, held its own with a bit better integration to my smallish satellites, was a bit tighter musically but the cone was pushed to its limits to match the output of the (relatively) loafing 12" on movie soundtracks or similar CD audio. All I can say about the ES150P is wow! Lows of the 12" are amazingly all there in a slightly smaller package that I was looking for, but it does run pretty hot as the volume knob has to go up to compensate for less cone area I suppose. That is a concern for me long term but right now it is putting out about 110db peak @ 1M of solid sound on music tracks with the volume knob only at about 1/3rd of max, with the back of the amp pretty hot. I suppose that's as good as it is safely going to get but darn good enough when I want it! I was going to keep only one of the two but decided to keep both. The ES150P for the dedicated music system where the 250P was simply too much, and the 250P for the home theater where the 150P might not be enough. I couldn't be more pleased with ES150P because its performance is so close to its big brother that it would have to be the better buy of the two. Only wish both subs had auto standby to save power but I just turn them off when not being used so problem solved.
Rated 5 von 5 von BeetzyBoy aus Mind Boggling Bass I've had this sub for about 3 months now and I couldn't be more satisfied with it. One nice feature is how sensitive the auto turn on/off is. What I mean is even the slightest signal from my amp to the RCA inputs will turn it on (even my phone signal will turn it on). That may sound kinda obvious but I have a Polk Audio 10" and it will turn off while I'm listening to music and it is clearly producing sound. Another great feature is how low the sub gets. It will hit the deep, deep tones and will handle them like nothing else. The 300 watts RMS allows it to get those low continuous frequencies AND own them. It's a great looking home theater sub with a massive down firing port and I have just ordered a pair of ES30 bookshelf speakers to match it. Overall, it's a great subwoofer.
Rated 5 von 5 von Jon99 aus Great low end sound Bought my JBL subwoofer a couple of weeks ago and love it. Add a great low end bass to my home theater system. Nice to be able to adjust the bass level when I want a lot of bass that rattles the Windows or turn down the level for a subdued sound with everyday tv watching.
Rated 5 von 5 von GEGO aus Great Sub Have had this sub for 8 months it is great! Better than a sub that comes as part of a set.
Can it be used in cars?
We do not recommend using the ES150P in your car since it requires 120/240 volts to run. You may check out our powered subs like the BassPro SL and Basslink series which you can find on our website, http://www.harmanaudio.com/car-subwoofers/.
Hi, good day I would like to know when was JBL SUBWOOFER ES150P manufactured/released?
The ES150P has been discontinued, it is sold out. It is now replaced by the SUB250P.
Is there any difference between playing the sub in LFE mode and playing it on normal mode with the crossover-frequency set at 120 Hz (same crossover-freq as LFE)? Thanks.
In terms of sound, it will not make any difference. This is how the Input works. The LFE input is only selected if the ES150P is connected to a receiver that offers a low frequency effects. If the receiver does not have digital processing (i.e. Dolby Pro-Logic decoding only), the normal input must be selected. That being said, if the ES150P is connected to a receiver that does have digital processing (i.e. Dolby Digital or DTS decoding), this will bypass the crossover in the sub. The adjustment will be made on the receiver.
I cant get it to power on anymore, is there a fuse in the sub?
Yes, there’s a fuse (1.25A 250V 5x20mm) in the ES150P, but it is internal. We do not recommend opening this unit up, as it is electrical and can be very dangerous. If you would like to have the unit serviced, please submit a request at www.jbl.com/contactus and the Customer Service team will happily assist you.
I'm using a PA system for Karaoke. The PA has a sub-woofer out. Can I add this ES150P to my PA system and use it for Karaoke?
All of the subs on this site are designed for home audio systems. While theoretically you can plug this sub into a PA system, we do not recommend this. The power and dynamics from a live system with live music and microphones requires a much more robust system. I would suggest that you check our www.jblpro.com site. This is where you will find professional application speakers and subwoofers.
I'm running two of these with infinity il 40 tower speakers infinity pc 350 center and il 10 surrounds Onkyo tx -777 reciever 135x5, my question is what would be your approach to get subs to blend well with il 40's and what other subs would you suggest?
It is impossible to give a specific setting. There are too many variables like size of room, curtains, windows, rugs, paintings, positioning, and so on. All of these things effect the sound in the room, making it impossible to give a specific setting. However, that said, these are all full-range speakers that have a nice low end. I would recommend using a starting point of 80Hz on everything. Let all of the speakers roll off at 80Hz, and let the sub handle everything below 80Hz. Try it like this for a week or so, and then bump everything up to 100Hz, and then down to 60Hz. And see which one sounds best to you. This is the best way to determine the best setting.
I know that the sub has 300 watts of power, but just how loud can it get relatively speaking? Also, will this work with any AV receiver?
It is impossible to say how loud it will get, in words. Generally speaking, it will work with any receiver. The general rule when selecting a sub is to make sure it has at least twice the per channel wattage rating of the receiver. So, for example, if your receiver is capable of putting out 80 watts per channel, you want your sub to have a rating of at least 160 watts. This will guarantee that the sub will have enough power to keep up with your receiver. So, in a nutshell, as long as your receiver has a wattage rating of 150 watts per channel or less, the ES150P will work well with it without any issues.
The Es150 does come with a grill to cover the speaker, right?
Yes, that is correct. The photo does not show the grille so that it can show off the massive woofer.
