Excellent Valu
I purchased the Arena 170 a month ago and I will spare everyone the "I can now hear things I never heard before..." review. I am by no means an audiophile in the sense that my ears are trained for critical review. Yet when I heard these and I have been playing my music constantly, I received genuine goosebumps. I purchased these for the price thinking if they weren't any good I could return them. I'm keeping these because they look sharp in my living room, sound great and they make me happy. Excellent value and I wholeheartedly recommend.

Good speakers at a great price
We made the purchase when these Area 170 speakers were on a steep sale and felt it was a very good decision. The set up was very simple (either direct wire or use some banana plugs) and the aesthetics are impressive. Because the black ones were out of stock, we went ahead and bought the white ones. Boy, are they clean looking! The sound is adequate because we don't have an integrated sub, and that will be added at a later time. Overall, for the price we paid ($80/ea), these can't be beaten!

Distinct Warm Tone (Best Value)

Better than expected ....
They were on sale for $79.95 each and free shipping ...so how could I go wrong? I did not expect much for such inexpensive speakers, but I was totally surprised after I hooked them up to my 90W Yamaha receiver and cranked it up...perfect highs and solid bass...wow and dynamic range is really good . Be patient, wait for a good price... and then strike.

Great for small and medium rooms.
I bought two Arena 170 speakers for my room. They're good for small and medium size rooms. The sound quality is a great quality. These are perfect for entery level speakers especially if they're going to be the first floor standing speakers you purchase.

Would these work well with a Marantz 2275 receiver? or any other suggestions. Thanks
Marantz 2275 is a rock solid amp! These little speakers will deliver and wake up your amp. I have a 65 watts per channel tube amp. I bought these arena 170. What a perfect match! I have the clarities on high and surprisingly the bass is phenomenal for a small 6 inch woofer. Its the way how the engineered and design the box that puts up that much music.
Another follow-up, I bought a JBL studio 280 3-way speakers. Similar to this and same wattage. I have both of them for 5 years and the Arena 7 years now. Honestly I chose the arena 170 for my amp. Nothing better or best but the arena 170 is a match made in heaven for my amp! Well just call it like this. No need for me to put a subwoofer on my amp.

Will these work with Yamaha TSR 7850. Planning to buy for rear.
Hi! Unfortunately, we do not have information about the Yamaha TSR 7850 receiver. However, the Arena 170 can handle from 20-200W of power at 8 ohms. As long as the receiver is within that wattage and ohm range, it will be compatible.

How compatible are the Area 170's with a JVC 4VR-5456X receiver?
Hi! Unfortunately, we do not have information about the JVC 4VR-5456X receiver. However, the Arena 170 can handle from 20-200W of power at 8 ohms. As long as the receiver is within that wattage and ohm range, it will be compatible.

Hello, Im using these with my Pioneer Elite SC-63 receiver. I have 2 in the front and two in the rear. Im also using the Arena center 125C. Are they a good match with this receiver? Thanks, Mike
Hi Mike. The Arena 170 Floor-standing speakers and the Arena 125C Center speaker are well matched with your Pioneer Elite SC-63 receiver. The speakers are rated at 8 ohms for their nominal impedance and your receiver is rated to output 125 watts at 8 ohms which is within the recommended amplifier power for the speakers.

Will the Arena 170 work great with Harman Kardon HK 3770 receiver?
Hi! The Arena 170 will work with the receiver but you should not crank it all the way up because it could blow the speaker. The HK3770 is really powerful which gives out 240W on 2 channel Stereo.
